Bun-less Chicken Burger with Caramalized Onions

Ingredients

  1. 200 g. ground chicken;
  2. 1/4th onion, minced;
  3. 1 garlic cloves, minced;
  4. 1 tbsp. dried thyme
  5. Salt and freshly ground black pepper                 
  6. 1 large onion, sliced
  7. 2 tsp. balsamic vinegar
  8. 1 tbsp. coconut/olive oil
  9. Sea salt

Instructions

Heat the oil in a skillet over medium heat.

Add the onions and season with salt.

Cook for 10 minutes, stir while making sure to not burn the onions.

Add the balsamic vinegar, lower heat and cook for another 5 minutes, stirring; set aside.

In a bowl, combine the chicken, onion, garlic, thyme, and season.

Form burger patties with the chicken mixture.

Preheat your pan to medium-high heat. Cook for 5 to 6 minutes on each side on the pan.

Serve the patties topped with caramelized onion, avocado slices (optional), using lettuce/roasted portobello mushrooms as a base.
