The Best Wedding Diet (It's Not What You Think)

You’re engaged - Congratulations!

Now in between the planning, pinning up wedding inspiration, and gushing about your happy day - you’ve probably hopped onto the internet, googled “Best wedding diet”, and seen a hundred million articles promising you flawless skin, luscious hair and a paper thin waistline. Quickly.

One of the happiest times of your life becomes plagued with stress, negativity and guilt - over and above dictating terms about how you can be the best bride/partner/wife/superhuman, when you’re probably already there.

But, in all honesty – The best wedding diet is not a 7 day cleanse. It’s not a 10 pound fat blasting regime.

It’s a lifestyle change that stems from a change in your mindset.

One that looks at your health as a forever commitment - not an emergency protocol.

8 Things to Do Instead of Starting a Wedding Diet:

  1. Prioritize Sleep: Sleep is a major cornerstone for an energetic, joyful, healthy life. Unfortunately, it’s usually the first thing we compromise when life gets busy.
  2. Manage Stress: Shifting that mindset and realizing your mental wellbeing is just as important as your physical wellbeing will have immense payoffs.⠀
  3. Nourish Yourself: Focus on eating quality, real, whole foods for the most part. But, also indulge occasionally – because you’re human. We only binge on the foods we heavily restrict!
  4. Move Mindfully : Don’t treat exercise as a punishment.  Focus on empowering your body not driving it to the ground with overwork and exhaustion.
  5. Check in With Your Thoughts : Ditch the negative self-talk. You ultimately decide what energy you bring to the table.
  6. Daily Gratitude : In the midst of focusing on everything that’s going wrong, we forget about all the beautiful things that are going right. Gratitude is a powerful healing force!
  7. Hydrate: This is one of the easiest and most inexpensive ways to look and feel your best. Water is responsible for every process in the human body - to combat stress, banish fatigue, keep your digestion moving, metabolism efficient, and nourish your skin.
  8. Get Support : Surround yourself with people that lift you up, help you be present, keep you grounded and celebrate every day, and make the most of this time in your life.

Be flexible with your thinking – and willing to experiment with different ways of improving your wellbeing.
